Mario Kart Love Song

Ok, so this is a sad excuse for an update with real news, but the wonderful Dave Stanworth put this up on his website (which is not G rated or even PG, consider yourself warned), and I thought it was worth repeating, we have no real news. I only have 8 more weeks of school, which is a great thing. This has been a hard semester, and even if graduation weren't the light at the end of this tunnel I'd be very excited for the end of April. We had the annual banquet at work which was surprisingly good for unexpected reasons. Last year was difficult for most retailers and DB was no exception. My boss talked about the refining process and how hard things make us stronger, which I knew but its good to be reminded. She specifically used the phrase "ease does not call forth greatness" which struck a chord in me. I've been thinking about what she said a lot since then and it has definitely helped me refocus and appreciate the experiences I am having right now. 3 out of 4 of my classes require a lot of me while the 4th just requires me to show up. Comparing this to the Frosted Mini Wheats commercial goes something like this, "The kid in me loves the lack of homework, or effort required while the adult in me is frustrated that I'm learning nothing and wasting my time." So the moral of the story is that I complain a lot about how hard my classes are but if they were easy I would learn nothing and probably complain even more. Anyhow, I better go get some homework done.
